Does it make it harder to lose weight if you sleep less?
Lately, I have been controlling my diet and exercising consistently to lose weight, but I am concerned because my weight hasn't changed as much as I expected. However, I generally don't get enough sleep, so I only manage to sleep about 4 to 5 hours a day on average. Since this cycle of going to bed late and waking up early repeats itself, I feel very tired, and I keep craving sweet foods or snacks during the day.
People around me say that getting enough sleep helps with weight loss, and I am curious if sleep deprivation really has a significant impact on dieting. My exercise routine and diet are similar, but I definitely feel a difference in my physical condition on days when I sleep well compared to days when I don't.
Has anyone else tried dieting while suffering from sleep deprivation like me? I am also curious if increasing my sleep time helped with weight loss or appetite control. I would like to know if I absolutely have to sleep 7 to 8 hours, or if it is okay to make up for the lack of sleep with naps during the day.
