In this column, I will explain in detail the mechanism, effects, and precautions of skin Botox. 1. What is skin Botox? Duration of skin Botox effects Skin Botox is a procedure that, unlike regular Botox treatments, involves micro-injections into the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin rather than the muscles. Depending on the hospital, it is called Mesobotox or Dermotoxin, and it focuses on improving the texture and function of the skin itself rather than paralyzing the facial muscles. The effects begin to appear 3 to 5 days after the procedure and last for approximately 3 to 4 months. Thanks to its short procedure time and natural-looking results, it is highly regarded as a treatment before important events. 2. Skin Botox Effects Skin Botox is known as a procedure that can simultaneously improve various skin concerns. Firstly, it is effective in reducing fine wrinkles. In particular, it naturally alleviates wrinkles around the eyes and on the thin skin of the neck, and the high satisfaction comes from the fact that it does not make facial expressions look awkward. Secondly, it helps control sebum secretion, shrink pores, and reduce acne. Third, the skin texture becomes more refined with a subtle glow, and a smoothing effect on the skin can also be expected. Fourth, it helps improve redness, and in some cases, it also adds a lifting effect, leading to improved firmness of the jawline and neck. 3. Disadvantages of skin Botox All procedures have limitations, and skin Botox is no exception. First, deep wrinkles, especially expression lines on the forehead, glabella, or nose bridge, are difficult to improve with skin Botox. They range from domestically produced to those from the United States and Germany, with a German product called 'ZeoMin' recently gaining attention. This product has the advantage of having unnecessary proteins removed, which reduces the likelihood of developing resistance. Skin Botox is more effective when combined with other procedures. For example, performing it alongside lifting procedures such as Ultherapy or Thermage can achieve both lifting effects and skin texture improvement simultaneously, creating a synergistic effect. It is advisable to consult thoroughly with medical staff about whether to proceed with combined procedures based on your skin condition. 6.
