I am 55 years old and have high diabetes levels. Since last spring, my vision has become hazy, making it difficult to drive at night. I underwent cataract surgery in November, and it felt as if the procedure was done effortlessly. My vision has returned, and I feel like I'm in my teens again. The te

Excellent facilities Outstanding service The transportation is a bit inconvenient Is the surgery cost really affordable? Is it true? How does the procedure cost compare to the surgery cost?

Vision

The vision category includes LASIK, LASEK, SMILE LASIK, presbyopia/cataract treatments, lens implantation, and other vision correction procedures. The surgery usually takes about 10 to 40 minutes, but recovery time and outcomes may vary depending on individual eye conditions and the surgical method used.

Event 462,139
LASIK/LASEK

LASIK and LASEK are vision correction procedures aimed at improving nearsightedness, astigmatism, and farsightedness by using a laser to reshape the cornea. The surgery typically takes about 10 to 20 minutes for both eyes, and the recovery period can range from approximately 1 week to 3 months, depending on the surgical method and individual condition.

Event 1553
Smile LASIK

Smiles LASIK is a laser vision correction procedure that reduces the range of corneal incisions. The surgery typically lasts about 10 to 20 minutes for both eyes, and recovery for daily activities is often advised to take about 1 to 7 days. However, the stabilization period for vision may vary depending on the individual's eye condition.

Event 16143
Presbyopia/Cataract

Cataract surgery involves the removal of the cloudy lens and the insertion of an artificial lens, and whether it corrects presbyopia depends on the type of lens implanted. The surgery typically lasts about 20 to 40 minutes, and the results and degree of vision improvement may vary based on the individual’s eye condition, the type of lens, and any accompanying diseases.

Event 41,658
Lens Insertion

Lens implantation surgery is a procedure that corrects vision by inserting a special lens into the eye without cutting the cornea. The surgery usually takes about 20 to 30 minutes, and the recovery period is typically around 1 to 7 days. The results and maintenance may vary depending on individual eye structure and the frequency of regular check-ups.

Event 953
Eyes

Eyelid surgery aims to enhance the size and shape of the eyes through procedures such as double eyelid creation, eye elongation, and eyelid correction. The surgery typically takes about 30 to 90 minutes, and the recovery period may vary from about 1 to over 4 weeks depending on the surgical method and individual conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Check common questions first

When should I visit an ophthalmologist?
Any eye-related symptoms — vision loss, eye pain, redness, foreign body sensation, glare, floaters, dry eye — warrant an ophthalmology visit. Regular vision exams are also done at ophthalmology.
What's the difference between LASIK and LASEK?
LASIK creates a corneal flap and uses a laser underneath — quick recovery (2–3 days) but vulnerable to trauma. LASEK removes only the corneal epithelium and applies laser — slower recovery (1–2 weeks) but more stable.
When should I get cataract surgery?
Surgery is considered when vision drops enough to disrupt daily life (typically below 0.5). Surgery takes about 15–30 minutes and involves inserting an artificial lens. Each eye is done separately; recovery is relatively quick.
When should children start vision exams?
Regular vision exams are recommended from age 3. Amblyopia must be detected and treated before age 6 for effective results; otherwise it may lead to permanent vision loss. Annual exams before each school year are advised.
Are eye exams and glasses prescriptions covered by insurance?
General ophthalmology visits and treatment of eye diseases (cataracts, glaucoma, etc.) are covered by national health insurance. Glasses prescriptions from a simple vision exam are not covered, and glasses themselves are not covered either. LASIK and LASEK are also non-covered.
