Diet effects during walking and running

I've noticed a lot of people running these days...

Is the weight loss effect different between walking and running?

I suppose consistency is important in anything, but I tend to overthink things before starting anything.

If anyone has tried both running and walking, I am curious to know which one was more effective for weight loss.
