When dieting, is it a good idea to look at waist circumference rather than weight?

When you're on a diet, you end up checking the scale first thing every day, don't you?

However, there are times when your weight remains the same but your clothes feel a little more comfortable, and conversely, times when you have lost weight but don't really feel any change in your body shape.

So I became curious if it is okay to judge whether the diet is going well just by looking at a single number.

I think checking other criteria as well, such as waist circumference or how the clothes fit, would be helpful in understanding the changes.

However, since waist circumference can vary depending on the location or time of measurement, you should compare them under the same conditions, right?

What other indicators do people on a diet check in addition to their weight?

Please share any methods that helped you manage it consistently.
