Which is more effective: exercising on an empty stomach or exercising before bed?

I'm on a diet these days.
I'm working out on an empty stomach in the morning.
But is exercising on an empty stomach effective?
Or I'm wondering if exercising after dinner is more effective.
The best approach would be to exercise twice a day, in the morning and evening, but doing so is difficult in terms of time and stamina.
