How long did you wear your retainer after finishing your braces?

It hasn't been long since I finished my braces, but I've heard a lot of people say that the real care starts now, so I'm a little nervous.

While I was getting braces, I just had to do as the hospital told me to, but since I have to take care of the retainer on my own, it was actually kind of a hassle.

Especially since there are a couple of days when I skip it before going to sleep, I'm worried that I might end up moving again at this rate.

People around me say that after a few years, it will be fine to just wear it at night, but others say they keep wearing it, so I don't even know what the standard is.

For those of you who have finished orthodontic treatment, are you still wearing your retainers consistently?

I would also like to hear how you managed it during the first few months.
