Has anyone had a jaw joint examination at a dental clinic?

Lately, my jaw makes a clicking sound when I yawn or open my mouth wide.

It doesn't hurt, but since it keeps happening, I'm worried about whether I should just leave it alone.

Especially on tired days, my jaw even feels stiff, so I wonder if I clench my teeth while sleeping.

I thought dentists only checked for cavities, but I heard they also provide separate treatment for temporomandibular joints, so I am looking into it.

The pain isn't severe yet, so I was wondering if I really needed to go to the hospital, but I figured it would be better to get it checked before it gets worse.

For those of you who have had an examination because of a clicking sound in your jaw, how was your treatment conducted?
