Diets that fall apart whenever I travel abroad, how to break free from the cycle of binge eating while on vacation T_T
In my daily life, I usually manage my diet quite well and have a strong will to lose weight, so I tend to resist delicious food pretty well. However, strangely enough, whenever I travel abroad, my diet always completely falls apart when I return...
When I travel abroad, there are so many new foods and local specialties right in front of me, and perhaps because I have a strong thought that 'if not now, when in my life will I ever get to eat this again,' I just lose my grip on reason.
The biggest problem is that even when I'm not hungry at all, I unconsciously keep picking at food like a machine whenever I see it in front of me. My mouth keeps moving even when I feel like my stomach is going to burst, and in the end, I end up repeating binge eating throughout the trip without ever feeling a proper sense of hunger.
Every time I look at the numbers on the scale after returning from a trip, I feel so frustrated. It is upsetting and disheartening because it feels like all the hard work and sweat I put into losing weight in Korea has crumbled in an instant.
How on earth can I fix this mindset or habit of constantly snacking whenever I travel, even when I'm not hungry? Is there anyone out there who, like me, used to binge eat whenever they went abroad but managed to overcome it with their own tips?
If you have any realistic know-how or advice on managing cravings while traveling, please share even the smallest thing. I'm so frustrated!
