In winter, the air becomes dry, making hair prone to frizzy hair. If your hair doesn't look great even after brushing it thoroughly, try making a few changes to your diet or lifestyle.

 

◇Adequate intake of B vitamins, unsaturated fatty acids, and vitamin E

 

Regularly eating foods rich in B vitamins is beneficial. B vitamins are key nutrients for glossy hair. For example, vitamin B12 is involved in red blood cell production, which promotes healthy hair follicles and hair growth. Vitamin B9 is involved in cell division, including hair cells. In fact, a study by the Nutrition Education Research Team at the Graduate School of Education at Kookmin University found that insufficient intake of B vitamins and protein can lead to hair loss.

▲Green leafy vegetables such as spinach are particularly rich in vitamin B.


You should also consume plenty of unsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E. These two nutrients promote blood circulation, ensuring a smooth supply of nutrients to the scalp.

 

Vitamin E is abundant in vegetable oils like corn and soybean oil, nuts, and asparagus, while unsaturated fatty acids are abundant in mackerel, salmon, avocado, and black beans. Black beans, in particular, are rich in both vitamin E and unsaturated fatty acids, making them extremely beneficial for hair.

 

◇Wash your hair with lukewarm water and use a treatment.

 

Just as important as what you eat is your daily lifestyle. Simply changing your habit of washing your hair with hot water will help reduce frizz. This is because hot water further dries out the scalp and hair. Always wash your hair with lukewarm water, and finish with a cold rinse. Cold water strengthens the hair cuticle, helping to improve hair texture.

 

Using a hair treatment is often a good option. Unlike conditioner, a treatment directly supplies nutrients to the hair. Applying it to damp hair will prevent the product from being absorbed properly. Squeeze out as much water as possible from your hair or gently blot it with a towel before applying. After applying, wait two minutes to ensure the product's nutrients are fully absorbed into your hair.
