How do you feel if you followed your diet well but gained weight the next day?

I lose motivation for no reason when I eat a light dinner and walk more than usual, but my weight goes up the next day. I try harder than the day before, but since the numbers show the opposite, I wonder if my diet is wrong.

However, come to think of it, there could also be differences depending on the amount of food, salt, and fluid intake from the previous day. If you reduce your food intake further based solely on the results of one day, it seems like it would actually be difficult to maintain the result in the long run.

When recording my weight, would it be helpful to look at the weekly average rather than the daily numbers? I'm curious about how to stick to a consistent diet without being swayed by the numbers.
