Is it better to have wisdom teeth extracted in advance, even if they don't hurt?

I don't have any pain yet, but I have one lower wisdom tooth remaining.

I usually didn't feel uncomfortable at all, so I just left it alone.
People around me said it’s easier to have it removed before inflammation develops later.

On the other hand, there is also talk that if a wisdom tooth is properly positioned without any issues, it doesn't necessarily need to be touched, so it is difficult to decide.
