네, 겉으로 멀쩡해 보여도 오래된 크라운은 정기적으로 확인하는 게 좋아요. 크라운 자체가 깨지지 않았더라도 크라운과 치아 사이에 충치가 생기거나 접착이 약해지는 경우가 있어서 눈으로만 보고는 알기 어려울 수 있거든요. 특히 오래된 크라운이라면 정기검진 때 크라운 가장자리, 잇몸 상태, 내부 충치 여부, 치아 뿌리와 주변 뼈 상태 등을 같이 확인하면 좋아요. 필요하면 엑스레이로 확인하기도 하고요. 다만 오래됐다는 이유만으로 멀쩡한 크라운을 무조건 교체할 필요는 없어요. 통증이나 씹을 때 불편함, 음식이 자꾸 끼거나 잇몸이 붓는 증상 등이 없다면 상태를 확인하면서 유지하는 경우도 많아요.
