Broadcasting personality Baek Ji-yeon (60), a former announcer, revealed her personal secret for maintaining her hair volume.

On the 6th, the YouTube channel 'Jigeum Baek Ji-yeon' posted a video titled 'Baek Ji-yeon, who is rich in hair volume, shares her hair care secrets and tips for better sleep.' In the video, Baek Ji-yeon said, "The most envy-inducing thing I hear from those around me is my hair volume," and "I will reveal my nightly routine." She continued, "Even when I am over 70 and approaching 80, I still look stylish and fabulous, and I think it's because of my hair volume," and "You should take care of your hair when you have it; if you start looking for ways when it begins to fall out, it's too late."

Baek Ji-yeon, who has tried various things recommended at the hospital, first revealed that she is diligently eating black beans. She said, "I make black bean soy milk and drink it every day at home." She also mentioned, "Before my 50s, I always washed my hair in the morning, but these days I switch to washing it at night," and "I always dry it and go to sleep." Furthermore, she explained, "I don't change the temperature of my scalp too much," and "I thoroughly wet my hair with lukewarm water to help remove waste products, then finish with cold water." She also stated that she always checks her hair after washing. ◇Consuming Black Beans Consuming black beans can provide indirect benefits for hair loss improvement. Black beans contain a large amount of phytoestrogens, which act similarly to estrogen. The phytoestrogen components in black beans inhibit 5-alpha-reductase and dihydrotestosterone, which are causes of male pattern baldness, and help improve scalp blood circulation. Components such as polyphenols, iron, and lysine also contribute to maintaining a healthy scalp and may promote hair growth. In particular, the polyphenol content in 1g of black bean skin is about 90mg. Polyphenols are a type of defense substance produced by plants to protect themselves from ultraviolet rays, and they have beneficial functions in our bodies, such as antioxidant effects.

 

◇Pay attention to water temperature when washing your hair. Washing your hair with hot water can make your scalp and hair drier. Leaving moisture on your hair and going out or sleeping can cause your hair to bleach under UV rays or bacteria to multiply easily. Dry your hair with cold air for more than 5 minutes, keeping the hairdryer about 30cm away so that the airflow does not directly hit the scalp and hair.
