Patients with renal impairment: In patients with renal impairment, the oral clearance of this medication decreases as creatinine clearance decreases. For patients with creatinine clearance below 50mL/min, including those receiving hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis (CAPD), adjust the dose as follows. Precautions

This drug is used for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis B and can affect liver function; therefore, patients with liver disease or impaired liver function should exercise caution. During treatment, serious liver side effects such as lactic acidosis and steatosis may occur; if these symptoms arise, discontinue the drug immediately and consult your physician. Sudden discontinuation of treatment can lead to a rapid deterioration of Hepatitis B; therefore, it is essential to follow medical advice during discontinuation and to have regular liver function tests. This medication is not recommended for HIV-infected patients who are not receiving antiretroviral therapy, and tests to confirm HIV infection are required. Contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic conditions should not take it. Patients with renal impairment, especially those on dialysis, need dose adjustments, and renal function should be monitored periodically. Patients who have undergone liver transplantation or are taking immunosuppressants should closely monitor both renal and liver function while taking this medication. It is advisable to take this medication on an empty stomach; taking it with food may reduce its efficacy. Headaches, fatigue, dizziness, and nausea are common side effects; if severe adverse reactions occur, notify medical personnel immediately. During pregnancy, it should only be used when necessary, considering the risks to the fetus; breastfeeding mothers should consult a specialist before deciding on its use since the medication may be excreted in breast milk. Children and elderly patients are also advised to exercise caution while taking this medication, notably seniors, due to the potential for increased drug concentration resulting from decreased renal function. Concurrent use with other renally excreted drugs may lead to interactions, so it is crucial to inform healthcare professionals about any co-administered medications and monitor for adverse reactions closely. In the case of overdose, some can be removed by hemodialysis; however, immediate medical intervention and supportive care are required. Keep this medication out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store it at room temperature.
