Regardless of gender or age, hair loss can cause extreme stress. It can lead to loss of self-esteem or depression, so early proactive management is necessary. Let's look at lifestyle habits to prevent hair loss.

The most important factor in preventing hair loss is "scalp cleanliness." Before washing your hair, wash your hands thoroughly, then dispense an appropriate amount of shampoo into your hand to create enough foam, and massage it into your scalp and hair as if cleansing. It is also essential to rinse thoroughly to ensure no shampoo residue remains.

 

When drying your hair, it is better to use cold air instead of hot air. Hot air can irritate the scalp, damaging the cuticle layer, proteins, and disrupting the balance of moisture and oil. Use the hairdryer at a certain distance from your hair, and avoid leaving your hair wet and unattended. Leaving wet hair for a long time creates a damp environment on the scalp, which is conducive to bacterial growth.


On days with strong ultraviolet rays, wear a hat when engaging in outdoor activities, and to remove dust or waste accumulated during daily life, it is best to wash your hair in the evening.

 

Scalp massage is performed to improve blood circulation in the hair follicles, but it cannot prevent hair loss. In fact, excessive brushing with a thick comb or using a massager aggressively can cause tiny cuts or injuries.

 

Rapid weight loss in a short period can temporarily cause hair loss. Conversely, eating well is also good for hair health. There are claims that soy has anti-androgen effects and helps alleviate hair loss, but these are not really significant. Eating soy does not suppress androgens (hormones that cause hair loss) or improve hair loss to the point of recovery. However, consuming a diet rich in protein and minerals can help strengthen the scalp and hair.
