I visited Open Mind Psychiatry because my insomnia has recently worsened again and I have been experiencing recurring heart palpitations for no apparent reason. I was even more anxious because I had a similar experience in the past, but I felt a bit relieved after the doctor listened attentively to my condition in the consultation room and thoroughly checked my sleep patterns, stress factors, and daily habits.
The treatment focused on restoring the quality of sleep. We started with a small dose of gentle sleep aids and medication to alleviate anxiety, while also providing specific guidance on sleep hygiene habits. It was very helpful that they explained how to actually practice things like maintaining a consistent bedtime, reducing smartphone use before sleep, and breathing relaxation techniques. They informed me that counseling could be combined if necessary, and I appreciated that they listened attentively without interrupting me. At other hospitals, consultations often ended quickly, but here, they empathized with me and offered realistic solutions, which made me feel much more secure. After taking the medication, the time it takes to fall asleep has definitely decreased, and my palpitations have also significantly subsided.
