Precautions

This medicine is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to penicillin or cephalosporin drugs. Especially patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia are at higher risk of rash and should be careful. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice should also avoid use due to the risk of recurrence. Patients with impaired liver function or severe renal impairment may have increased drug concentrations, so dosage and administration intervals should be adjusted. Care should be taken when using this medicine in patients with allergic tendencies, elderly patients, or patients who have difficulty swallowing orally, as there may be a risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency. Patients with gastrointestinal diseases may have unstable drug absorption, so caution is needed. This medicine can cause gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, and in severe cases, pseudomembranous colitis may occur, so treatment should be stopped immediately and medical consultation should be sought if symptoms appear. Long-term use may cause elevated liver enzyme levels or symptoms of hepatitis, so regular liver function tests should be conducted. Rarely, serious skin reactions or anaphylactic shock may occur. If symptoms such as rash or difficulty breathing occur, treatment should be stopped immediately and emergency measures should be taken. Blood tests may show abnormalities such as leukopenia or anemia, so any unusual symptoms should be reported to the hospital. There have been rare reports of central nervous system disturbances such as anxiety, headache, and seizures, requiring special caution in patients with reduced kidney function. Regular checks on renal function should be conducted, and treatment should be halted if necessary. This medicine may interact with other medications, so it is essential to inform healthcare providers of any other medications being taken. Use during the early stages of pregnancy or while pregnant is restricted, and caution is needed while breastfeeding as it may affect the baby. It is not recommended for children under 12 years of age or those weighing less than 40 kg. Elderly patients may experience side effects more easily due to reduced physical function, so dosages and administration intervals should be adjusted, and their condition closely monitored. This medicine should be stored in a dry place at temperatures below 25 degrees, and in case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms and renal and neurological abnormalities may occur, requiring immediate medical attention.
