Improvement of gastric and duodenal ulcers and gastric mucosal lesions (erosion, bleeding, etc.)
This medication is used for gastrointestinal diseases such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease, recurrent ulcers, anastomotic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It also helps improve symptoms of erosion, bleeding, redness, and swelling of the gastric mucosa occurring during acute exacerbations of acute gastritis or chronic gastritis. Patients can expect to relieve damage to the gastric mucosa and improve symptoms through this medication.
Administer 400 mg orally twice a day (morning, bedtime) or 800 mg once a day (at bedtime). Also, administer 300 mg orally four times a day (after meals, at bedtime). The dose may be increased to 400 mg taken four times a day (after meals, at bedtime) (up to a total of 1.6 g). For acute gastritis and acute exacerbations of chronic gastritis, administer 200 mg twice a day or 400 mg once a day as needed.
Administer 20 to 40 mg per kg of body weight orally divided throughout the day.
This medication contains the ingredient Cimetidine, so it should not be used by patients who are hypersensitive to this medication or Cimetidine. Patients taking Dofetilide, which may increase the risk of cardiac arrhythmias, should also avoid this medication. As it contains lactose, it cannot be administered to patients with lactose intolerance or genetic lactose metabolism disorders. Patients with renal or liver function issues may need dose adjustments or administration interval modifications due to increased drug concentration. Patients with a history of drug allergies, elderly patients, children under 19, and patients undergoing hemodialysis should also use this medication with caution. This medication can mask symptoms of gastric cancer, so it should be used after confirming malignancy, and eradication therapy is necessary in cases of Helicobacter pylori infection. Patients with allergies to Yellow No. 4 dye included in this medication should use it carefully. Blood-related side effects such as leukopenia and thrombocytopenia are rare, so if symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, or fever occur, immediate examination and discontinuation of the medication are required. Adverse reactions such as liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, allergic reactions, and respiratory distress may also occur, so if any unusual symptoms arise, the medication should be stopped immediately. Endocrine disorders such as gynecomastia, increased milk secretion, and erectile dysfunction may occur, and digestive symptoms may include abdominal bloating, constipation, and diarrhea. Nervous system symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, seizures, and confusion may occur, so extra caution is needed especially for elderly patients or those with impaired kidney function. Abnormal heart rhythms or serious skin rashes, such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, may rarely occur, so immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is recommended if unusual symptoms appear. This medication interacts with many other drugs, and when taken with blood thinners, anxiolytics, cardiac medications, antibiotics, etc., dose adjustments or changes in dosing intervals are necessary. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks of using this medication, and those who are breastfeeding should ideally discontinue breastfeeding while using this medication. Safety has not been fully established for children, so it should only be used when absolutely necessary, and elderly patients should also adjust the dosage based on kidney function. In cases of overdose, serious symptoms such as respiratory depression may occur, and in suspected cases, immediate emergency treatment is required. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and transferring to another container is not recommended as it can compromise the quality of the medication. Studies in animals have reported possible effects on the prostate and testes; however, clinical trials have confirmed no significant effects on reproductive function.
