Precautions

This medication contains cimetidine, which should not be used in certain patients. Patients with a history of allergy or hypersensitivity to cimetidine or any other component of this medication should not take it. Additionally, patients currently taking dofetilide may have an increased risk of cardiac arrhythmia, so it should not be administered. Patients with reduced kidney or liver function may have elevated blood levels of this medication, so dosage should be reduced or intervals between doses extended with caution. Patients with a history of drug allergies, elderly patients, children under 19 years, and patients undergoing dialysis need to be careful. Specifically, patients undergoing dialysis should take this medication after dialysis, and it may mask symptoms of gastric cancer; thus, malignancy should be confirmed before use. Patients with gastric or duodenal ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori infection require bacterial eradication therapy simultaneously. While taking this medication, various side effects such as decreased blood cell count, liver function abnormalities, kidney dysfunction, allergic reactions, gynecomastia, digestive disorders, neurological disorders, and skin rashes may rarely occur. If these symptoms arise, consult a physician immediately and discontinue use. During treatment, the progress of the disease should be carefully monitored, and if there is no effect, it is advisable to change to another treatment. Particularly for elderly patients or those with a history of peptic ulcers, regular check-ups and caution are necessary. There may be interactions if taken with anticoagulants or certain antidepressants and heart medications, so notify the doctor. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should exercise caution under the guidance of a physician due to the medications' safety not being fully established. This medication can also be transmitted through breast milk, therefore nursing mothers should stop breastfeeding or consult a physician. In case of overdose, serious symptoms such as respiratory depression may occur, necessitating immediate hospital treatment.
