In cases of severe and respiratory infections, the dose may be increased to 500 mg/125 mg per dose. In renal impairment, dosing should be adjusted according to creatinine clearance.

Precautions

This medication, as a beta-lactam antibiotic, should not be used in patients who have had hypersensitivity reactions to penicillins or cephalosporins. Special caution is required for patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia, as they may be at risk for rash. Patients with liver function issues should also be monitored closely when administering this drug. For those with liver disease or moderately severe to severe renal impairment, drug concentration may increase, necessitating adjustment of dosing intervals. Individuals with allergic predispositions may experience symptoms such as rash or urticaria. Patients who have difficulty swallowing medications, elderly patients, or those in poor general condition should be careful due to the risk of bleeding from vitamin K deficiency. Gastrointestinal adverse reactions can include diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain; immediate discontinuation of the medication is advised if gastrointestinal symptoms are severe. Liver function abnormalities may occur and are more commonly observed in the elderly and males, making regular monitoring of treatment duration and liver function tests necessary. If skin rashes or severe allergic reactions occur, administration should be stopped immediately, and medical advice should be followed. Hematological adverse reactions, such as leukopenia and anemia, can occur, albeit rarely, so symptoms should be monitored. Central nervous system adverse reactions may include rare occurrences of headache, dizziness, and seizures, with a heightened risk of seizures in patients with poor renal function. Regular testing may be required for renal function abnormalities; if symptoms occur, medication should be discontinued. Changes in intestinal flora due to antibiotic use may lead to stomatitis or candidiasis, so appropriate treatment should be sought upon symptom occurrence. Symptoms of vitamin K and vitamin B deficiencies may arise, necessitating caution. This medication should only be used for the minimum required duration to prevent the emergence of resistant bacteria, and extreme caution is necessary if there is a history of hypersensitivity to penicillin. Severe allergic reactions like anaphylaxis may occur rarely, so patients should be closely monitored after administration. Antibiotic-associated pseudomembranous colitis can occur, necessitating immediate discontinuation of therapy and consultation with a physician if severe diarrhea or abdominal pain occurs. Long-term use may lead to the development of resistant bacteria, so careful monitoring is required for usage extending beyond 14 days. If liver dysfunction is suspected, regular testing should be performed, and discontinuation should be considered if necessary. Patients with impaired kidney function should have dosage and administration intervals adjusted. Avoid use during the first three months of pregnancy, and during pregnancy, should only be administered when the benefits outweigh the risks. Caution is needed during breastfeeding as the drug can be transferred in small amounts to breast milk, potentially causing side effects in infants. Not recommended for children under 12 years or weighing less than 40 kg. Elderly patients may have decreased physiological functions, increasing the potential for side effects, necessitating dosage adjustments and careful monitoring. This medication may affect certain urine test results, so caution should be exercised during testing. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, renal dysfunction, seizures, etc., may occur; immediate cessation and appropriate treatment should be initiated.
