This medication should not be used by individuals with inflammatory bowel disease or gastrointestinal obstruction. It should also be avoided in cases of unexplained abdominal pain or risk of gastrointestinal perforation. Those allergic to any component included in this medication or with a genetic issue that prevents lactose digestion should not take it. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, infants, and children must consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medication. Elderly individuals, diabetic patients, and those with fluid and electrolyte imbalances should also consult a healthcare professional before use. If taking specific medications, it is important to inform the doctor as there may be interactions with this medication. If constipation does not improve after one week of use, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Be cautious as sudden changes in bowel habits or overdose may cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, electrolyte loss, and other issues. Prolonged or excessive use may lead to a dependence of bowel reflex on the medication, thus caution is warranted. If diarrhea or loose stools occur, it is advisable to reduce or discontinue the dosage. Symptoms of gastrointestinal disturbances such as belching, abdominal discomfort, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting may occur, so monitoring is essential. If there is excessive gas in the intestine during endoscopy, there is a risk of explosion, so cleanse the bowel before the examination. Long-term use may result in fluid loss or electrolyte imbalance, necessitating regular testing. If children use it for an extended period, there is an increased risk of dental caries, so attention to dental hygiene is important. While no effects on the fetus have been reported for pregnant women, consultation with a healthcare professional is essential before use.
