Adult dose

This medication is used to treat various bacterial infections. It is effective for respiratory infections such as acute and chronic bronchitis, lobar and bronchial pneumonia, as well as pulmonary infections like empyema or lung abscess. It also helps in treating upper respiratory infections such as tonsillitis, sinusitis, and otitis media. It is used to treat urinary infections including cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, pelvic infections, and gonorrhea. It is effective for infections of the skin and soft tissues, such as boils, abscesses, wound infections, as well as osteomyelitis and dental infections. Thus, it is used to improve various bacterial infections.

How to take

Adult dose

The dosage should be adjusted based on the patient's age, weight, kidney function, and severity of infection. Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients with hypersensitivity to beta-lactam antibiotics or allergic reactions to penicillin-based drugs. Particularly, patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia have a higher risk of rash and should take caution. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice should use this medication with caution. This medication may cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting; if symptoms are severe, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Abnormal symptoms such as liver dysfunction, jaundice, skin rashes, and hypersensitivity reactions may occur; report any unusual symptoms to healthcare personnel immediately. Severe allergic reactions or anaphylactic shock may occur; hence careful observation is required after administration. Development of resistant bacteria may occur with prolonged use, so it is important to use only for the required duration. There may be interactions with other medications, so inform your healthcare provider about any medications you are taking. Avoid use in early pregnancy and consult a physician for careful use if pregnant or breastfeeding. Not recommended for children under 12 years or weighing less than 40 kg. Elderly patients have a higher risk of side effects due to reduced kidney and liver function, necessitating dosage and interval adjustments and careful monitoring. Regular testing of liver function, kidney function, and blood tests may be needed while taking this medication. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms and neurological symptoms may occur, so visit a medical facility immediately for appropriate treatment.
