Adult dosage

For acute gastritis and acute exacerbations of chronic gastritis, take 200 mg twice a day or 400 mg once a day.
Children's dosage

This medication is used for various gastrointestinal disorders such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease, recurrent ulcers, anastomotic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It also helps improve gastric mucosal lesions such as erosion, hemorrhage, redness, and edema that occur during acute exacerbations of acute and chronic gastritis. It is used to effectively improve gastrointestinal health and alleviate symptoms.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

As cimetidine, take 400 mg per dose twice a day (morning and bedtime) or 800 mg once a day (at bedtime). Additionally, take 300 mg per dose four times a day (after meals and at bedtime). The dosage may be increased up to 1.6 g per day (400 mg four times a day after meals and at bedtime). Precautions

This medication may have glass particles when using glass ampoules, so care should be taken when cutting, especially in children and the elderly. It should not be used in patients who have hypersensitivity to this drug or are taking dofetilide. Caution should be exercised when used in patients with reduced kidney or liver function, those with a history of drug hypersensitivity, elderly patients, children under 19 years of age, and patients undergoing dialysis. This medication may cause various side effects such as reduced blood cell count, liver dysfunction, kidney issues, allergic reactions, hormonal changes, gastrointestinal symptoms, neurological disorders, cardiac rhythm changes, and skin reactions; therefore, if symptoms occur, immediate medical attention is required. If no therapeutic effect is observed, other treatment options should be considered, and regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests should be conducted. Elderly patients or those with chronic diseases may be at increased risk for pneumonia, so caution is needed. This medication may interact with various other drugs and affect blood levels, so patients should inform healthcare providers of any other medications they are taking. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant and nursing mothers should carefully consider the risks and benefits of using this medication, and it is recommended to stop breastfeeding while using it. Safety in children has not been firmly established, so it should only be used when absolutely necessary. In elderly patients, drug concentration may increase due to decreased kidney function, so dose adjustments or increased intervals between doses may be necessary. In case of overdose, severe symptoms such as respiratory depression may occur, requiring immediate emergency treatment. When administered as an injection, rapid intravenous administration may cause arrhythmias or hypotension, so it should be injected slowly. This medication should be stored in a safe place out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container.

Serious side effects

  • Rarely, shock and anaphylactic-like reactions (generalized rash, difficulty breathing, etc.) may occur.

  • Severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell syndrome), and epidermal necrosis have been reported.

  • Neuropsychiatric effects may also occur.

Mild side effects

  • Hematological adverse reactions may include leukopenia, granulocytopenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, pancytopenia, aplastic anemia, and immune hemolytic anemia.
  • Liver dysfunction may result in jaundice, hepatitis, and increased AST and ALT.
  • Kidney issues may manifest as interstitial nephritis, acute renal failure, interstitial nephritis, urinary retention, elevated BUN, and increased serum creatinine.
  • Hypersensitivity reactions may present as rashes.
