Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with a known allergy to certain components or beta-lactam antibiotics. Those who have previously experienced anaphylaxis or serious skin reactions should avoid administration. Additionally, patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia are at higher risk of developing rashes and should be cautious. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice also need to be careful due to the risk of recurrence. Those with liver or kidney dysfunction may experience elevated drug concentrations and need dosage adjustments. Elderly patients with an allergic constitution or poor nutritional status, as well as those experiencing vomiting or diarrhea, should use with caution due to potential vitamin K deficiency and absorption issues. Gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, gastritis, and abdominal pain may occur, so if symptoms worsen, the medication should be discontinued immediately and a doctor consulted. Liver function abnormalities may manifest during treatment or after discontinuation, so regular liver function tests are necessary. If skin rashes or itching occur, or in severe cases, serious skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome arise, administration should be stopped immediately. Rarely, blood-related abnormalities such as leukopenia or anemia may occur, necessitating further testing if symptoms arise. Symptoms of central nervous system disturbances may include dizziness, headaches, and, rarely, seizures, so caution is advised. Regular kidney function tests are recommended as kidney function may deteriorate. Prolonged use may lead to antibiotic resistance and growth of resistant organisms, so this medication should only be used for the necessary duration. This medication may interact with other drugs, so be sure to inform your healthcare provider of any other medications you are taking. Avoid use during the first trimester of pregnancy, and caution is needed while breastfeeding, as side effects may occur in the infant. Children under 12 years of age or weighing less than 40 kg have limited experience with this medication and are not recommended for use. Elderly patients are at a higher risk of side effects due to decreased physiological functions, so careful monitoring and dosage adjustment are advised. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, drowsiness, rashes, etc., may occur, and in severe cases, renal failure or seizures may occur, requiring immediate medical consultation. This medication should be stored in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius, and storage conditions need to be carefully monitored.
