Dosage

Surgical operator's hand and arm disinfection: Take 5mL of this medication and rub it on the hands and arms for about 2 minutes and 30 seconds until sufficient lather is produced, then rinse thoroughly with running water. Hand disinfection: Take 5mL of this medication and rub it on the hands for about 1 minute and rinse thoroughly with running water. Surgical site disinfection: Apply this medication directly or use an appropriate amount, rub it well to create sufficient lather, then wipe it off with sterile gauze.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. People who are allergic to this medication or its ingredients should not use it. Patients with thyroid dysfunction, especially those with conditions such as multinodular goiter, lipid-induced goiter, and Hashimoto's thyroiditis should avoid using this medication. Patients with impaired kidney function, particularly those with renal insufficiency, should also avoid this medication. It is not safe to use in neonates or infants under 6 months of age. Patients with herpetic dermatitis and those undergoing radioactive iodine treatment, before or after, should not use this medication. Severely ill patients, patients with extensive burns, elderly patients with a history of thyroid disease, and those with a history of renal insufficiency should use this medication cautiously. Rarely, allergic reactions may occur when using this medication, and if symptoms such as difficulty breathing, skin rash, or hives appear, use should be discontinued immediately. Symptoms like pain, itching, irritation, rash, redness, dermatitis, burning, ulcers, and skin discoloration may occur, and if severe, use should be stopped. Particularly, using a large amount for burn treatment may lead to severe side effects such as electrolyte imbalance, metabolic acidosis, and renal insufficiency. Long-term use may cause changes in thyroid function, so caution is advised. If this medication was used immediately before delivery, the newborn's eyes and skin should be washed thoroughly after birth, and if symptoms do not improve, surgical treatment should be considered. Patients with extensive burns require adequate fluid supply and monitoring of kidney function and metabolic status. This medication can affect thyroid diagnostic tests, so it is advisable to allow a 1-2 week interval between testing and administration. This medication contains iodine, and caution is needed as prolonged or excessive use may result in thyroid dysfunction. When infections are present, wounds should be thoroughly cleaned with saline before using this medication. If sudden symptoms like itching, swelling, chest tightness, paleness, cold sweat, or shortness of breath occur after use, immediate medical attention should be sought. Patients undergoing lithium treatment should avoid regular use of this medication, as its effectiveness may decrease or side effects may occur when used with certain other medications. It should not be used with hydrogen peroxide. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not use this medication for a long time or extensively. Absorbed iodine may be transmitted to the fetus or newborn via the placenta and breast milk, so it is recommended to monitor the newborn's thyroid function. The iodine component of this medication may affect the results of thyroid function tests. In case of overdose, symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, and coma may occur, and in severe cases, thyroid dysfunction and kidney damage may arise. Overdose requires professional treatment and supportive therapy. This medication is not for ophthalmic or internal use and should be kept away from the eyes. If it gets into the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water. Do not mix with other formulations and use only after thoroughly cleaning the affected area. If it spills on clothing, it can be easily removed if washed immediately.

Interactions

Do not use this medication in conjunction with hydrogen peroxide. Consult a doctor or pharmacist when using with lithium preparations, chlorhexidine, silver sulfadiazine compounds, alkalis, or preparations containing mercury, or enzymatic wound healing agents.
