Dosage

Sterilization and disinfection of the surgeon's hands and arms: Take 5mL of this medication, rub it well on the hands and arms for about 5 minutes to produce sufficient foam, and then thoroughly rinse with running water. Sterilization and disinfection of the surgical site: Apply this medication directly or use an appropriate amount, rub to create sufficient foam, and wipe with sterile gauze.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be administered to individuals who are allergic to this drug or its components, those with thyroid dysfunction, those with impaired kidney function, neonates and infants under 6 months of age, patients with herpetic dermatitis, and patients undergoing radioactive iodine treatment. Furthermore, it should be used cautiously in severely ill patients, elderly patients with a history of thyroid disease, and patients with a history of renal failure. While using this medication, there may be rare allergic reactions, so usage should be discontinued if symptoms such as difficulty breathing, rash, or hives occur. Skin reactions may include pain, itching, irritation, and rash, and in severe cases, skin ulcers or contact dermatitis may develop. Using large amounts may lead to electrolyte imbalances, metabolic acidosis, renal failure, and prolonged use may cause changes in thyroid hormone levels. In cases of excessive use, side effects such as oral or throat burning, diarrhea, and difficulty breathing may appear, necessitating caution. If used immediately before delivery, the newborn's eyes should be washed clean immediately, and if symptoms do not improve, surgical intervention should be considered. Adequate hydration and monitoring of kidney function are necessary for patients with extensive burns. Thyroid diagnostic tests and the use of this drug should be spaced 1-2 weeks apart, as changes in thyroid function may occur requiring attention. This medication contains iodine and is not recommended for prolonged or extensive use by pregnant or breastfeeding women. Iodine may affect the fetus or newborn, so thyroid function testing may be necessary for neonates. In addition, care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes; if contact occurs, rinse immediately with clean water. Do not mix with other medications; instead, wash the affected area thoroughly before use. When storing, avoid direct sunlight, and it is best not to use metal containers as they may corrode. Finally, using this medication excessively or for prolonged periods may lead to thyroid dysfunction or other serious side effects, so it must be used strictly according to medical advice.

Interactions

Do not use this medication in combination with hydrogen peroxide. Consult with a doctor or pharmacist before using in combination with lithium compounds, chlorhexidine, silver sulfadiazine, alkaline preparations, substances containing mercury, or enzyme-based wound healing products.
