Precautions

This medication is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to penicillins and cephalosporins. It can be dangerous for those with a history of anaphylaxis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, or shock. It is advisable not to use this medication in patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia due to an increased risk of rash. Patients with a history of jaundice or liver dysfunction due to this medication or penicillins should avoid its administration to prevent the risk of recurrence. Caution is needed for patients with impaired liver function or severe renal impairment as elevated drug concentrations can worsen side effects. Patients with allergies, those receiving parenteral nutrition, the elderly, and those in poor general health are at risk of vitamin K deficiency and bleeding. Care should also be taken with severely vomiting or diarrhea patients as the drug may not be absorbed properly. This medication can cause gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, and in severe cases, may lead to pseudomembranous colitis or acute pancreatitis, so immediate medical consultation is required if symptoms arise. Liver function abnormalities may occur, so regular liver function tests are important during prolonged use. If there are any severe allergic reactions, such as skin rashes, urticaria, or Stevens-Johnson syndrome, the administration should be stopped immediately, and medical guidance should be followed. Rarely, there can also be blood disorders, renal function impairment, and central nervous system reactions, so any unusual symptoms should be reported immediately. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if you are taking any other medications, it is essential to inform your doctor or pharmacist. The use of this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding should be carefully considered, especially avoiding its use in the first three months of pregnancy. It is not recommended for children under 12 years old or weighing less than 40 kg, and dosage adjustment and monitoring are necessary for the elderly due to a higher risk of side effects. In case of overdose, symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, rash, and convulsions may occur, so immediate medical attention is needed.
