Precautions
This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to quinolone antibiotics. Shock symptoms such as nausea, peripheral coldness, and difficulty breathing may occur rarely, and if these symptoms arise, usage should be discontinued immediately, and appropriate treatment should be sought. Additionally, hypersensitivity reactions such as cardiovascular collapse, loss of consciousness, angioedema, airway obstruction, rash, hives, and itching may occur, necessitating the cessation of administration if these symptoms develop. Temporary burning or stinging in the eyes, redness, itching, chemical conjunctivitis, keratitis, periorbital edema, blurred vision, tearing, dryness, and pain can occur, and in rare cases, serious corneal damage or Stevens-Johnson syndrome may develop, so if these symptoms occur, usage should be stopped immediately. Hearing impairment or irritation symptoms may also occur. To prevent the occurrence of resistant bacteria, this medication should only be used for the minimum required period after confirming susceptibility, as prolonged use may lead to excessive growth of non-susceptible bacteria, including fungi, and long-term use should be avoided. The standard treatment duration for trachoma is 8 weeks, after which the continuation of therapy should be carefully determined. During treatment, wearing soft contact lenses should be avoided. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only receive treatment when the benefits outweigh the risks, and breastfeeding mothers should either discontinue breastfeeding or stop the medication. Safety and effectiveness in infants under 1 year have not been established. This medication is for eye use only, and care should be taken to ensure that the tip of the container does not come into direct contact with the eye. To avoid contamination, it should be used for personal use only and shared use should be avoided. For storage, keep it out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store in a cool, dry place sealed tight.
