This medication is effective against various bacterial infections. It targets several strains, such as Escherichia coli, Shigella, and Salmonella, and is used for respiratory infections, community-acquired pneumonia, ear, nose, and throat infections, bacterial prostatitis, urinary tract infections, gonococcal cervicitis and urethritis, gastrointestinal infections, infections of bile secretion ducts, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, gynecological infections, peritonitis, and infections around the eyes. However, as this drug is a fluoroquinolone, there is a risk of specific side effects, thus it should only be used in cases where no other treatment options are available for acute bacterial sinusitis, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, simple urinary tract infections, and acute otitis media. Therefore, it is effective in improving and treating various bacterial infection symptoms.
