Dosage

Precautions

This medication contains fusidic acid and should not be used by individuals who are allergic to this ingredient or its salts. It is particularly ineffective against infections caused by certain bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, so it should not be used in those cases. When using this medication, it is advisable to confirm the sensitivity to bacteria and use it only for the minimal necessary duration to prevent the development of resistant bacteria. Additionally, if symptoms of hypersensitivity such as itching, redness, swelling, or blisters appear, use should be discontinued immediately and a specialist consulted. This medication is well absorbed by the skin, so care should be taken not to use it on large areas for extended periods. If resistant bacteria develop during local use, it may cause problems when taking the same type of antibiotic later, but generally, sensitivity will return after some time. Continued or prolonged use may lead to excessive proliferation of bacteria that are not sensitive to the medication, so in such cases, use should be stopped and appropriate treatment sought. This medication should not be applied to the eyes, and it is also advisable to avoid applying it to the inner face or eyelids. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medication, and it should only be used locally when the benefits outweigh the risks. Lactating women should also consult a specialist before use, as the medication may be transmitted to the newborn, necessitating caution. Particularly, premature infants or newborns may have incomplete liver function; therefore, caution is advised when used for long periods or on large areas as it may lead to liver dysfunction.
