The dose may be increased up to 1.6 g (400 mg orally, four times a day after meals and at bedtime). Precautions

This medication can introduce glass fragments when using glass ampoule injections, so extra caution is needed, especially for children and the elderly. It should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or allergies to cimetidine, nor to patients currently taking dofetilide. Patients with impaired kidney or liver function, older adults, children under 19 years old, and those undergoing hemodialysis should use the drug with caution, requiring dose and administration interval adjustments. This medication can cause a variety of side effects such as reduced blood cell count, liver dysfunction, kidney impairment, hypersensitivity reactions, gynecomastia, gastrointestinal symptoms, neurological disturbances, and skin reactions. Therefore, if any abnormal symptoms occur, patients should consult healthcare professionals immediately. During treatment, it is important to monitor the course of the disease closely, and if there is no effect, other treatment options may be considered. Regular checks of liver and kidney function, as well as blood status, are crucial. This medication can interact with various drugs, especially anticoagulants, sedatives, antidepressants, antiarrhythmics, and diabetes medications, so dosage adjustments or discontinuation may be necessary in consultation with a doctor or pharmacist. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication when the benefits outweigh the potential risks to the fetus since the effect on the fetus is not clearly established. Nursing mothers are advised to discontinue breastfeeding while taking this medication. Safety for pediatric patients has not been sufficiently established, so it should only be administered cautiously when necessary. Elderly patients often have reduced kidney function, which can lead to increased drug concentration, so it may be necessary to reduce the dose or extend the dosing interval. In the case of overdose, serious side effects such as respiratory depression may occur, so immediate emergency assistance is required if suspected. When administered in injection form, rapid intravenous injection should be avoided and given slowly to reduce the risk of side effects. Store out of reach of children, and transferring to other containers can jeopardize the quality and safety of the drug, so caution is advised.
