I tried Juvelux Volume and Sculptra for a year because of sunken cheeks — An honest review
It has been a long-standing concern of mine that whenever I lose weight, my face gets thinner first, making my cheeks sunken and my face look sharp.
So, I started collagen injections last August. I received a total of three sessions.
For the first two sessions, I used Juvelux Volume mainly on the sides of my cheeks, and for the third and final session, I was really self-conscious about my nasolabial folds, so I got Sculptra injections in that area.
The hospital told me that Sculptra provides firmer hold on the nasolabial folds. I received the treatments over the course of a year, so I didn't rush the process.
As a result, I am half satisfied. My cheek wrinkles and crow's feet have definitely improved.
But since it isn't like fillers where you can fill exactly the desired area with the desired amount, I gain weight randomly all over.
Fat started accumulating in areas of my cheeks that weren't the lines I intended. Also, nodules formed when I received Sculptra for my nasolabial folds.
For about a month or two, I could feel something hard when I touched it. It's gone now, but I was a bit worried back then.
For those getting hit, please make sure to massage thoroughly.
While receiving the treatment, I also learned about the principles of the procedure, and I think you really need to understand it to avoid wasting money.
High frequency stimulation with warm heat → Improves elasticity, pores, and skin texture (Thermage, Oligio series)
Ultrasound shoots to contract the skin → contours/jawline (Shrink, Ulthera series)
They say that people with little facial fat may develop cheek hollowing if they receive ultrasound, and that those concerned about a double chin may not feel much effect if they only receive radiofrequency treatment.
At first, I just took whatever was recommended, but after learning this principle, choosing became much easier.
