Nasal irrigation for otitis media

Should I avoid nasal irrigation when I have otitis media?
When children catch a cold, their nasal congestion can sometimes extend to the ears, leading to otitis media.

So, the runny nose needs to decrease for the middle ear infection to get better.

Just like when you have a cold, I diligently perform nasal irrigation when you have otitis media.

But recently, a certain doctor on TV

They said you shouldn't rinse your nose when you have otitis media.

A friend told me, so I didn't believe it.

Is that so? Am I doing something wrong?

If so, why shouldn't nasal irrigation be done for otitis media?
