Precautions

This medication must be used according to the physician's instructions and should not be used arbitrarily. It should not be used in patients with hepatic coma or at risk of it, patients with severe kidney impairment, and patients with metabolic disorders that make nitrogen utilization difficult. Patients with heart failure, pulmonary edema, oliguria, anuria, hypernatremia, hyperkalemia, or a history of myocardial infarction should also avoid using this medication. This medication contains amino acids and electrolytes, which can cause specific metabolic abnormalities or allergic reactions, so patients with hypersensitivity should avoid it. Asthma patients or individuals sensitive to sulfites should be cautious as allergic reactions or asthma attacks may occur due to components included in this medication. When using this medication, side effects such as nausea, vomiting, palpitations, and increased blood pressure may occur, and rapid administration of large volumes poses a risk of acidosis. Additionally, various tests including blood sugar, electrolytes, liver and kidney function should be regularly performed while closely monitoring the condition. Particularly, diabetic patients should check their blood sugar levels frequently, and it is important for the elderly to administer it slowly and adjust the dosage accordingly. Pregnant women should consider the necessity and risk of treatment since the safety of this medication has not been fully established. Children or newborns may have immature liver function, so lower concentrations should be maintained, and serum ammonia levels should be checked frequently. When administering this medication, maintain sterility, do not use if the solution has changed color or become cloudy, and follow proper temperature and storage conditions. Infusing the fluid too rapidly may cause chills or vomiting, so it should be administered slowly, and interactions with other medications should be considered.
