Elderly patients typically receive the usual adult dose, but for those aged 75 and older, the dosing interval should be at least 6 hours. For patients with moderate renal impairment, the dosing interval should be extended to 12 hours.

If any rash or allergic reaction occurs while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. One of the ingredients in this medication may increase the risk of seizures, so caution should be exercised by individuals with a history of seizures or those at high risk for seizures. This medication may cause physical and mental dependence, so it should be taken according to a doctor's instructions during prolonged use; abrupt discontinuation may lead to withdrawal symptoms. Patients with impaired liver function should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and should not exceed the recommended dosage due to the risk of liver damage. Individuals with certain genetic markers may metabolize this medication rapidly, increasing the risk of respiratory depression, thus requiring dosage adjustment or alternative medications in such cases. This medication should not be used in children under 12 years old or adolescents under 18 who have undergone tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy. This medication may exacerbate sleep apnea or hypoxia, so continuous monitoring for these symptoms is necessary during use. Elderly patients or those at risk of hyponatremia should closely monitor for symptoms of hyponatremia while taking this medication. This medication may interact with specific drugs, so inform a doctor or pharmacist about any other medications being taken.
