This medication is used as an adjunct to diet therapy in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia to lower elevated total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL-cholesterol levels, while increasing HDL-cholesterol levels. It is especially effective when applied with appropriate dietary therapy in individuals at increased risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease due to hypercholesterolemia. Before drug administration, it is necessary to identify and treat potential secondary causes of dyslipidemia, such as diabetes and hypothyroidism, and continuously monitor treatment progress through lipid tests. Additionally, during hospitalization for acute coronary events, it is recommended to assess lipid status as soon as possible to inform treatment plans. This medication is used alongside dietary control and improves cholesterol levels through appropriate combination management.
