Relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria
This medication alleviates symptoms of seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis and improves symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria. It can also be used in conjunction with hydrocortisone topical preparations to alleviate symptoms associated with dermatitis and eczema. It helps effectively manage various allergy and skin-related symptoms.
Adults and children aged 6 years and older: 1 tablet (containing 5mg of levocetirizine hydrochloride) orally once daily, regardless of meals. Patients with kidney disorders should adjust the dose according to renal function (estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR)). Children aged 6 years and older: 1 tablet (containing 5mg of levocetirizine hydrochloride) orally once daily, regardless of meals.
This medication should not be used by patients allergic to specific ingredients or those who have had hypersensitivity reactions to hydroxyzine or piperazine derivatives in the past. Patients with end-stage renal disease or those undergoing hemodialysis should not be administered this medication. This medication should not be used in infants under 1 year of age, and children under 6 years should be administered in liquid form instead of tablet form. This tablet contains lactose; therefore, patients with lactose intolerance or specific inherited lactose metabolism disorders should avoid taking it. Use with caution in patients with impaired kidney or liver function and in the elderly, as the blood concentration of this medication may increase. Taking this medication may lead to central nervous system side effects such as drowsiness, headache, dizziness, and fatigue, necessitating caution when driving or operating machinery. Additionally, this medication can cause gastrointestinal side effects such as dry mouth, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Rarely, it may result in cardiac irregularities or blood-related adverse reactions, as well as hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes or itching. Avoid combining this medication with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants as it may enhance drowsiness and decrease concentration. In patients with urinary retention disorders, this medication may exacerbate urinary retention, so use with caution. Due to limited safety data, this medication should only be administered to pregnant women with caution and only when necessary, while breastfeeding women should also be cautious as adverse reactions may occur in the baby. This medication should not be used in infants under 1 year of age, and dosage adjustments and precautions are necessary for children and the elderly. Discontinuing this medication prior to allergy testing may affect test results, so it is advisable to refrain from taking it 3-5 days before the test. In case of overdose, symptoms such as drowsiness or agitation may occur and specific antidotes are not available; treatment should be symptomatic. This medication is not effectively removed via hemodialysis, thus urgent medical attention is required in the event of overdose.

This medication is sensitive to light, so it should be stored in a special container that excludes light. Additionally, it is important to maintain the storage temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius to preserve its efficacy.
