Relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain
This medication is used to relieve acute and chronic pain ranging from moderate to severe.
For children aged 12 and older and adults, the dosage should be adjusted according to the patient's level of pain and therapeutic response. It is recommended to start with a dose of 2 tablets, and thereafter, the dosing interval should be at least 6 hours, ensuring not to exceed 8 tablets in one day. The effective minimum dose should be administered for the shortest time possible. This medication should not be taken longer than necessary, and if prolonged administration is needed due to the characteristics and severity of the disease, regular monitoring should be conducted to evaluate the need for continued use of this medication. Elderly patients Aim to administer the usual adult dosage. However, for elderly patients over 75 years, it was found that the elimination half-life of tramadol increased by 17% when administered orally; therefore, ensure a dosing interval of at least 6 hours. Patients with renal impairment For moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance of 10-30 mL/min), extend the dosing interval to 12 hours. Administration is not recommended for patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance below 10 mL/min). Tramadol is eliminated very slowly during dialysis and filtration; therefore, it is not necessary to readminister this medication post-dialysis to maintain analgesic effects. Patients with liver impairment Careful consideration should be given to extending the dosing interval for patients with moderate liver impairment. This medication should not be given to patients with severe liver impairment.
Children aged 12 and older should receive the same dosage as adults.
