Precautions

This medication works by binding to specific proteins to disrupt the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, thereby killing the bacteria. Before using this medication, it is essential to inform if you have previously used this drug or similar class antibiotics and experienced severe allergic reactions or shock. People with allergic tendencies or those who frequently show symptoms like bronchial asthma, rash, or hives should use this medication with caution. Patients with severely reduced kidney function or gastrointestinal diseases should take it with more caution. If symptoms of allergy occur during use, such as skin rash, itching, difficulty breathing, or swelling, immediately stop taking the medication and consult a healthcare professional. Rarely, severe skin diseases, blood abnormalities, liver, and kidney dysfunction may occur; hence regular monitoring and testing are necessary. This medication may cause gastrointestinal disturbances, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and signs of discomfort, so report any severe symptoms to the healthcare professional. Interactions may occur when used with other medications, so be sure to inform your healthcare provider of any medications you are currently taking. Especially, since it can affect blood clotting, patients taking anticoagulants should have regular blood tests. Pregnant or nursing women should use this medication cautiously as its safety has not been fully established. In infants less than one month of age, the safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established, so use should be avoided. Elderly patients have impaired body functions, making them more susceptible to side effects, so dosing and intervals should be adjusted, and careful monitoring is necessary. To prevent unnecessary development of resistant bacteria, it is crucial to take this medication for the exact period required. Additionally, during the course of taking this medication, there may be signs of bleeding tendencies or vitamin deficiency, so report any abnormal symptoms to your healthcare provider immediately.
