This medication is used for treating various infections caused by different bacteria. It is effective against respiratory infections such as acute and chronic bronchitis and pneumonia, as well as diseases like empyema, lung abscess, tonsillitis, sinusitis, and otitis media. It also helps with urinary tract infections such as cystitis, urethritis, and pyelonephritis. It is used to treat pelvic infections and gonorrhea, improving infections in various tissues and areas such as boils, abscesses, soft tissue infections, wound infections, osteomyelitis, and dental infections. This drug works effectively against several resistant bacteria, including beta-lactamase producing strains, making it a reliable option for infection treatment. Therefore, this medication is used to treat multiple bacterial infections.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and children aged 12 years or older or weighing more than 40 kg: Administer 250 mg/125 mg of amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium orally every 8 hours. Precautions

This medication is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be used in patients who have had hypersensitivity reactions to penicillin or cephalosporin drugs. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult a physician before using this medication, and it is especially safer to avoid use during the first three months of pregnancy. In children, especially those under 12 years or weighing less than 40 kg, experience is limited, so its use is not recommended. The elderly are at higher risk for side effects due to decreased physiological functions, so dosage and intervals should be adjusted, and the medication should be used cautiously.
