This medication is effective for conditions such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease, recurrent ulcers, postoperative anastomotic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It also helps improve mucosal lesions, bleeding, erythema, and edema occurring during acute exacerbations of acute and chronic gastritis. It should not be used in patients with allergic reactions or hypersensitivity to this medication, those at risk for certain cardiac arrhythmias, and patients with genetic lactose intolerance. For patients with impaired renal or liver function, the elderly, children under 19 years of age, and patients on dialysis, dosage adjustments or alteration of administration intervals may be necessary, and it should be administered only after confirming the malignancy due to the possibility of masking symptoms of gastric cancer. Particularly, the elderly or those with chronic conditions may have an increased risk of pneumonia, so caution is required. Due to many potential drug interactions, dosage adjustments or cessation of concurrent medications may be necessary depending on the types of drugs being taken.
