Short-term relief of moderate pain (post-surgery) and fever.
This medication can be rapidly used when pain or high fever is severe, especially when intravenous administration is required or other routes of administration cannot be used. It primarily provides short-term relief of moderate pain that occurs post-surgery and is also effective for treating fever in the short term. Therefore, this medication is used to quickly alleviate symptoms of pain and high fever after surgery.
For adults weighing over 50kg, administer 1000mg of acetaminophen by intravenous infusion 4 times a day, with a minimum interval of 4 hours. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 4 grams. For patients with severe renal impairment, it is advisable to extend the interval between doses to a minimum of 6 hours.
For children weighing 33kg (approximately 11 years old) and adults weighing less than 50kg, administer approximately 15mg/kg (1.5ml/kg of this medication) of acetaminophen by intravenous infusion, with a minimum interval between doses.
This medication can cause severe poisoning or death due to confusion between milligrams and milliliters at the time of administration, so it is essential to verify the exact dosage. Once the patient is able to take the medication orally, it is recommended to switch to an appropriate analgesic immediately. Check whether other medications contain acetaminophen to avoid overdose. Exceeding the recommended dosage can cause severe liver damage, so patients with impaired liver function should take it under the guidance of a physician. Symptoms of liver damage may appear between 2 to 6 days after administration, and if abnormal symptoms occur, an antidote should be administered immediately. People who frequently consume alcohol must consult with a professional before taking this medication, or they may be at high risk for liver damage. If skin rashes or allergic reactions occur during the use of this medication, administration should be stopped immediately, and medical staff should be consulted. Individuals who are allergic to acetaminophen or this medication, patients with peptic ulcers, severe liver, kidney, or heart diseases, and those with aspirin-induced asthma should not take this medication. Patients with liver or kidney diseases, tendencies for bleeding, asthma, elderly individuals, pregnant women, and nursing mothers should use this medication cautiously and follow the physician's instructions. This medication may rarely cause serious side effects like blood abnormalities, liver function abnormalities, skin rashes, or shock, so notify medical staff immediately of any unusual symptoms. Interactions with other medications might occur, so if currently taking any other medications, it must be reported, especially when taken concurrently with specific antibiotics, anticoagulants, or anticonvulsants. Driving or operating machinery is not affected; however, this medication should not be mixed with other medications. Minimally dose with children and the elderly and monitor for adverse reactions; closely observe the condition in cases of high fever. The use of this medication is limited during pregnancy and should be taken under the physician's judgment, while nursing mothers can use it relatively safely. Patients with severely impaired kidney function should use it with prolonged intervals between doses. Overdose can lead to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, and in severe cases can lead to liver failure and coma, so immediate medical attention is necessary. Store this medication at temperatures not exceeding 30 degrees Celsius and do not refrigerate or freeze. Before administration, ensure no foreign substances or discoloration are present. Discard any unused solution and use this medication only once.
