Precautions

This medication must not be used in patients who show allergic reactions to this medication or its ingredients. It should be administered with caution to patients taking other serotonergic medications, such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) or serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). While using this medication, serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may occur, so if symptoms appear, administration should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment must be received. Seizure symptoms similar to epilepsy have been reported, so neurological abnormalities should be carefully monitored. Side effects such as headache, diarrhea, liver function abnormalities, and itching may occur, so any symptoms should be reported. This medication is recommended for use only during anticancer treatment that causes severe vomiting. Concomitant use with other serotonergic medications can lead to a serious side effect known as serotonin syndrome, so the patient's condition must be closely monitored during co-administration. Care should be taken if taken with medications that affect enzymes that metabolize this drug in the liver, as the blood concentration of this drug may increase, raising the risk of side effects. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication with caution, and breastfeeding women are advised to suspend breastfeeding. The safety of this drug has not been thoroughly confirmed in children, so it is preferable to avoid its use in this population. Elderly patients may have reduced physiological functions, so their conditions should be carefully monitored during administration, and immediate action should be taken if any abnormal signs occur. This drug should not be mixed with specific injections, so caution is needed during preparation. Animal studies have reported that this drug may affect the fetus, so the risks should be considered when using this drug during pregnancy.
