Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. First, individuals allergic to this drug or ergot alkaloids should not use it. Furthermore, patients with acute myocardial infarction or acute bleeding should not take this medication. Patients taking sympathomimetic agents or those with bradycardia (heart rate less than 50 beats per minute) should also avoid this medication. Patients who have not achieved complete hemostasis after intracranial bleeding, as well as individuals with orthostatic dysregulation, should not be prescribed this medication. Patients with mild bradycardia or decreased renal function should use this medication with caution. Taking this medication may occasionally cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as dyspepsia, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dry mouth, among others. Liver function abnormalities may lead to elevated ALT and AST levels. Cardiovascular abnormalities such as dizziness, orthostatic hypotension, increased or decreased blood pressure, and increased serum uric acid may rarely occur. Psychologically, symptoms such as drowsiness, fatigue, headache, tinnitus, tiredness, and insomnia may develop. Additionally, hypersensitivity reactions like skin rash, hives, itching, flushing, and heat sensation have also been reported rarely. This medication may lower blood pressure further when taken with antihypertensive agents, so it's crucial to check blood pressure regularly. Since it can affect uric acid metabolism, caution should be exercised for patients with a history of hyperuricemia or gout. Care should also be taken when driving or operating machinery after taking this medication. This medication can enhance the effects of antihypertensive agents and may interact with other drugs metabolized by the metabolic enzyme CYP450 2D6 in the liver. During breastfeeding, this drug may be excreted in breast milk, so it is advisable to avoid taking it or to discontinue breastfeeding if possible. Elderly individuals may have diminished physical function, so caution such as reducing the dosage should be exercised. Safety in children has not been confirmed. In case of overdose, blood pressure may temporarily decrease, so blood pressure changes should be closely monitored, and appropriate measures should be taken.
