Nutritional supply through intravenous administration with effects of hydration, electrolytes, amino acids, etc.
This medication is used to supply necessary hydration, electrolytes, amino acids, calories, essential fatty acids, and omega-3 fatty acids via intravenous administration to patients who are unable to receive nutrition orally or through the gastrointestinal tract. This helps improve the nutritional status and maintain bodily functions.
The dose and infusion rate should be determined based on the patient's lipid removal capacity, nitrogen and carbohydrate metabolism abilities, and nutritional requirements. The dose and the size of the bag should be determined according to the patient's condition and weight. - Patients with normal nutritional status or mild metabolic stress: Nitrogen 0.10-0.15 g/kg per day (0.6-0.9 g/kg as amino acids) - Patients under moderate to severe metabolic stress, regardless of nutritional imbalance: Nitrogen 0.15-0.25 g/kg per day (0.9-1.6 g/kg as amino acids) In very special cases (e.g., burns or marked anabolic states), the nitrogen content may be higher.
The use in children is not recommended.
This medication must be used strictly according to a physician's instructions. If allergic reactions such as fever, chills, rash, or difficulty breathing occur during administration, the infusion must be discontinued immediately. This medication may produce precipitation when mixed with certain drugs, therefore should not be administered simultaneously with drugs such as Ceftriaxone, and the injection equipment must be thoroughly cleaned if used for other drugs. Caution is required for premature or low-birth-weight infants, as they may have lower lipid removal capabilities and experience adverse reactions. This medication should not be given to individuals with allergies to fish, eggs, soybeans, peanuts, or patients with severe liver disease, renal failure, or blood coagulation disorders. Patients with conditions that may affect fat metabolism such as renal failure, diabetes, or liver dysfunction should be administered this medication with caution, and their blood sugar, electrolytes, and liver function should be monitored periodically during treatment. When administering this medication, strict aseptic techniques must be observed to prevent infection, and serum triglyceride levels should be checked regularly to prevent fat overload syndrome due to excessive administration. Excessive administration of amino acids or glucose can cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and hyperglycemia; therefore, the recommended dosage and infusion rate must be adhered to. The safety of this medication during pregnancy or lactation has not been established, and it should only be used when the therapeutic benefits outweigh the risks. Blood tests should be performed 5 to 6 hours after administration as fatty components can affect test results. In case of excessive administration, reduce or discontinue the infusion rate and seek appropriate emergency care if necessary. This medication should be stored at a temperature between 1°C and 25°C, kept in a sealed container to prevent air or moisture exposure. After mixing, it should be used promptly, and any remaining solution should be discarded.
