How to take

Adult dose

This medication is generally administered once daily with the evening meal, with the 0.5/100/1000 mg extended-release tablet taken once daily, 1 tablet at a time. Patients taking the 0.25/50/500 mg, 0.25/50/750 mg, or 0.25/50/1000 mg extended-release tablets should take 2 tablets at once once daily. If adequate blood sugar control is not attained with Metformin and Sitagliptin, this medication can be considered.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with compromised cardiac function, as it may worsen symptoms of heart failure; careful monitoring by a physician is needed. If signs of heart failure appear, consult a doctor immediately and get evaluated through necessary tests. During therapy, any weight gain or edema should be reported to a physician, and it is crucial to combine appropriate exercise with a dietary regimen. This medication carries a risk of hypoglycemia, requiring caution when skipping meals or engaging in vigorous exercise, and immediate action is necessary if hypoglycemic symptoms occur.
