Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

This medication is taken once daily at any time of the day, regardless of meals. The initial dose is 2.5 or 5 mg once daily, with a maintenance dose of 10 mg once daily; most patients are managed on this dosage. Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be administered to patients who are allergic to any of its components, have severely impaired liver function, have muscle disorders, are taking cyclosporine, or have very poor kidney function. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so one should visit a medical facility immediately for appropriate treatment and monitoring of liver function and muscle damage.
