It is safer for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant and for breastfeeding mothers to avoid taking this medicine. This medicine can cause hypoglycemia, so blood sugar changes should be closely monitored, especially when taken with other hypoglycemic medications such as insulin or sulfonylureas.
