Precautions
This medication is used for the treatment of hepatitis B, and sudden discontinuation can lead to a rapid deterioration of hepatitis, so caution is needed. It should not be used in patients with allergies to any of its components or with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance. During treatment, side effects such as headache, abdominal pain, cough, back pain, fatigue, nausea, joint pain, diarrhea, and indigestion may occur; if symptoms persist, consult a doctor. Since it can affect kidney function, regular kidney function tests are required, especially in patients with existing kidney issues or those taking other nephrotoxic medications. Bone density reduction may occur, so patients at risk of osteoporosis should consider bone density testing. During pregnancy, the risk to the fetus is not significant; however, it should only be taken after sufficient consultation with a doctor during pregnancy, and with nursing mothers, the impact on the newborn should be considered before use. This medication is not recommended for the treatment of HIV-1 alone; appropriate combination therapy is needed after confirming HIV infection. Interactions with other drugs may occur, so caution is advised when used in combination with especially anticonvulsants, antituberculosis drugs, and natural products (such as St. John's Wort), and it is essential to inform healthcare professionals of any medications being taken. Elderly patients over 65 years of age or those with impaired kidney or liver function can use it without special dose adjustments, although medical supervision may be necessary based on their condition. In cases of overdose, vital signs and clinical status should be closely monitored, and if necessary, blood dialysis can be used to remove the drug. Store in a tightly sealed container to protect from air and moisture, and maintain a storage temperature between 1°C and 30°C.
